Ad Policy for Creators
Client: Content Creators
Responsibilities: Instructional Designer, Ad Policy SME, Content Development, Visual Design, Project Management
Problem: Brands partnering with content creators were seeing a rise in ad policy violations, primarily due to confusion around how TikTok’s advertising guidelines applied to branded content. Knowledge gaps led to compliance risks, disrupted campaign execution, and created barriers to successful brand partnerships.
Solution: Designed an ILT deck paired with an evergreen policy handbook to address gaps. The training delivered clear, scenario-based guidance on how TikTok’s ad policies apply to branded content. The handbook provided creators with an ongoing resource to help with compliance and reduce future violations.

Impact

Process
Following ADDIE and adult learning principles, I developed a targeted learning solution for content creators in collaboration with the content creator education team:
Analysis:
Reviewed ad policy violation data from the content creator education team to identify key areas where creators lacked understanding, particularly regarding the distinction between user-generated content (UGC) and paid ads.
Defined specific learning objectives to bridge these knowledge gaps and ensure creators understood how TikTok’s ad policies applied to brand collaborations.
Instructional Design:
Developed an engaging, scenario-based ILT deck to demonstrate practical examples of policy application in branded content.
Designed the session to be interactive and highly relevant to the creators’ experiences.
Created a global Ad Policy for Creators Handbook to serve as a takeaway resource for creators to reference post-training.
Content Development:
Crafted the ILT deck and the handbook, ensuring both were visually engaging, concise, and easy to navigate using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Docs.
Developed templates for the training materials to streamline future content creation, making it 40% faster to develop training and ensuring scalability for the global creator network.
Delivery and Evaluation:
Delivered training to multiple cohorts of content creators across North America and APAC, ensuring the materials addressed the unique needs of both markets.
Collected post-training metrics, achieving a 93% learner satisfaction rate and receiving positive feedback on the clarity and usability of the materials.
